This old garage had had its day. The rain was dripping through the roof, the walls were damp, water was getting trapped inside and everything on the floor was getting wet.
It needed pulling down and starting again.
While we were at it, the side gate was made up of a rotten sheet of ply wood which was not very secure and the ally next to the garage was where the customer kept his cycles and were in danger of being stolen.
We set to work removing the old asbestos roof, the concrete garage walls and leveling the ground. A few weeks later, a lovely new timber garage, a new rear gate and a cover over the ally to keep the bikes dry.
