This lovely timber cabin was designed and built for Chris Difford, the co founder of the 80's band "Squeeze".
It was to be used for Chris to have a dedicated work place to write and practice is songs which was away from the main house and any other distractions. He particularly wanted it to have large windows so he could see up the lane in the quaint little village, be fully insulated and have plenty of character and quirky features. The cabin had underfloor heating, hardwood floor, stained exposed beams, a glass gable end and a matching porch. The roof was tiled in western red cedar, the cladding is Oak Waney edge. To make the cabin extra quirky I have to thank Harry at Copford Saw Mill for picking out some nice Cherry Tree Trunks used for the corner posts and the porch supports. |
